The Story of Browne & Western

At the heart of Browne & Western is a story of heritage, adventure, and the timeless beauty of the American West.

Our founder, discovered her deep connection to the wild spirit of the West as a young girl. Growing up with a father whose love for the great outdoors shaped their family life, she spent her childhood immersed in the rhythms of nature—hunting, fishing, and exploring the open landscapes that stretch as far as the imagination. Weekends and summers brought with them time in the country, dusty boots, and the thrill of western sports, where she fell in love with a culture that celebrates grit, simplicity, and freedom.

Her passion only deepened as she spent more time in the United States, where sprawling ranches and rolling plains felt like home. These experiences became woven into the fabric of her life and later, her dreams. Browne & Western was born as an ode to the places, memories, and stories that shaped her.

Today, she brings this spirit to life on her own smallholding, a patch of land that echoes the simplicity and charm of the western lifestyle. Living among her horses, chickens, and a loyal German Shepherd who ensures all creatures—human and otherwise—stay in line, she has built a sanctuary that inspires every design. Each piece reflects a life lived close to the land, one where quality and timeless beauty come first.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

But seriously...

Sustainability is such an important topic that needs to be discussed, as a company we aim to make an environmentally positive impact. As a founder I believe that not creating a business is the most sustainable thing to do, point blank. However I personally believe that we live in a consumers world and it is inevitable that there will forever be production and growth in every industry which all have an impact on the environment that we live in. Industries that you wouldn’t even think of day to day that impact on the environment.


With that being said, Fashion plays a big part of the problem and there is no way to be 100% sustainable, however we believe in buying better for longer.  As a founder I have found out in my own life how much I have over consumed in the past. I used to work in fast fashion and I actually cringe at what I used to process in terms of the volume of cheap garments and even witnessing the waste of those same cheap garments that cost far more to “dispose” of then to actually make which is quite scary. Its very easy to forget the conditions in which these garment makers are working in. I also cringe at the fact that the assumption is that all foreign factories are conducting poor working practices, when in fact its a problem thats a lot closer to home, just because its “made in england” doesn’t always mean good practices, always do your research on companies you work with and buy from. Its a moral decision to work with good factories not just a sustainable reason. For complete transparency we work with a UK manufacturer who has spent 10 years working with their partner factory in China. Oh no someone said the word China! Well its actually the manufacturing hub of the world and have such advanced equipment that are able to make our factories’ employees work in a normal working environment, with good working practices and fair pay. Not a “sweat shop”. Our manufacturer is regularly visiting their partner factory to maintain these values are consistently in place.


The particular factory we have producing our garments focus on high quality, natural fabrics and have sustainable processes in place to avoid waste. 


Our ethos of our brand is to Create well, with intention. Quality products to stand the test of time, that you’ll treasure and wear year-after-year, We will never produce pointless filler products to bulk out a collection. We just won’t do it! All of our products have been created with intention, being able to wear your garments and that they are versatile whether that be around the ranch, at the rodeo, a walk in the country, a country music gig, at the beach or even to work. Browne & Western will be you wardrobe go to. 


Transparency should be the norm, we aren’t claiming to be the most sustainable brand there has ever been or will be but we are a brand that strives for better consumer practices, better quality products and a better future for the fashion industry and a brand that you will love for years for consistency and quality.
